Nanotechnology offers a viable alternative to traditional antibiotics, with various nanomaterials like metallic, polymeric, and lipid-based nanoparticles acting on microbial membranes. It’s used in medical device coatings, drug delivery systems, and improving antibiotic effectiveness. However, issues like environmental impact, regulatory barriers, and safety need to be addressed.
